What You Need to Know About Dust Pollution

Dust pollution may not be as widely known as the other types of pollution; nevertheless, it is still a problem requiring immediate solution. It is a form of air pollution, which in turn, is one of the major causes of global warming. Dust pollutants can come from human activities on a daily basis. These include activities from industrialization, agricultural, transport, mining, and construction to name a few, or from the wind that whips the soil or sand carrying them elsewhere. Particles that make up dust are rocks, ore, soil, grains, woods, minerals, or from organic materials such as the breaking down of plants, flowers and their pollens. Dust pollutants can have some serious effects on one’s health such as lung or respiratory problems. Construction sites are heavy contributors to dust pollution. To minimize the pollution, these construction sites should abide strictly with the regulations on environmental protection. They must also see to it that they are responsible to implement strict measures in controlling dust pollutants from harming the environment and the health of those living within their vicinity.
